SYLLABUS:
Behavior: Don't cause a problem. NO CELL PHONES PRESENT. All must be put away.
Grading: Regular grading as set by the handbook. 65% tests, 10% final, 25% assignments.
Late work: You lose 10% PER day for ALL missing assignments and assessments.
This class is designed to help you explore career options after high school and learn about how to write in your career field.

1st WEEK WRITING ASSIGNMENT:
You are to hand-write or type IN CLASS a 500+ word essay/paper that includes:
1. Introduce yourself as a person.
2. What would you like to learn in Career English?
3. What are some careers you're considering? Why? What do you already know about them?
4. How do you learn best? What are your favorite activities?
5. How do you feel about yourself as a writer? Do you have strengths, weaknesses, things you want to work on, etc?
6. If you get in trouble w/ me (and I hope you don't), how can we resolve things best in your opinion?

WHAT'S NEXT FOR ME? Essay
1. You'll have 2 days to find out the information for your college, voc school, military, or job chart. You'll pick two options you're considering after you graduate high school. I recommend making a chart or list.
2. You'll have 1 day to outline and draft your essay. You must follow the outline from our notes.
3. You'll have 1 day to write your essay.
4. You'll have 1 day to work with another student to proofread and edit your paper.
5. Turn in your final paper on the date Miss Sampson gives you. This is a test grade.
